Open School East are seeking applications from emerging artists and writers to join their independent development programme.
Established in 2013 and located in the coastal town of Margate, Open School East is a free, independent art school and community space. OSE are focused on learning through the arts in an open and inclusive way.
The OSE Associates Programme is a free year-long course with a focus on development. The program offers a critical, informal, and non-competitive environment in which to develop your art. It is mainly self-directed. Thus, suited to already motivated creators. It is divided into three terms each with their own theme and focus.
The OSE Associates Programme offers a range of resources.
- A shared workspace.
- Tuition & mentorship.
- Opportunities to showcase work.
- Seed-funding to develop, research or initiate a project.
- And lots more too.
From what I have read, I would recommend this course to aspiring poets, writers looking to break into television, and anyone who wants to invest a few days a week into creative development. I am confident that all of our regular attendees at Thanet Creative events will likely find this interesting.
